Well, today it was kind of busy and a little dragged. I woke up unwillingly at 5:00 a.m. since I've been spoiled lately by waking up at 8:00 a.m. or later. Slowly, I dragged out of bed and took a shower as my husband tells me good morning and I shush him (sorry baby but I needed more sleep).
Once I drank my coffee I was in a better mood. We got to the school at around 7:30 a.m. and I waited till 8:05 a.m. to go to the teacher's class that I volunteered for. First period class was easy since all they had to do was a midterm, second period was science, third period had to take the same midterm that first period took and finally last period was an elective class so we played games (Thankfully it was a short day. School got done at 12:15 p.m.). The experience was really good and I got to help the teacher somewhat. I guess it helps with my learning experience but I felt a little self aware on my skills as a teacher's assistant. After speaking with the teacher, he assured me that it is normal to feel like that. Overall, I had a really good time and enjoyed learning how to teach or maybe I learn from them instead : ). Some students were so smart and others seem to struggle a lot. It saddens me to see the ones that struggle the most since each individual student vary on many different spectrums such as learning disabilities to personal problems that include family. It is amazing to still work with people that care for each individual student and gives each the same treatment and respect they each deserve. This is why I want to be a teacher and it is almost daunting to me since this was not my original plan; however, I know the intimidation can fade away as I learn to approach the many situations that can take place by observing a professional teacher do his job the right way!
Okay, time to cook. I feel like making pasta Primavera, yummy! I will boil some pasta, add some onions, garlic, broccoli, bell peppers and tomato with basil sauce. First, I grill the onions with some olive oil and a little butter, add the chicken (cooked from a previous night), add broccoli (let it cook with lid cover for ~5 minutes), add garlic, finally mix in the pasta and spaghetti sauce (Francesco Rinaldi brand, really good and not sweet like Prego spaghetti sauce) and Voila done! I will try not to pig out thought since I need to go back to the gym tomorrow. I still need to make a conscious effort to still eat well on my off workout days.
