I'm a little frustrated with Kaiser because I need to get a TB appointment, but now they are telling me that I need to see my physician in order to get an approval. Why in the world do I need to see the physician first to have a test done? Ridiculous! I hate when there are so many steps before you actually get to where you actually need to go. I will deal with this later, for now, I emailed my physician and hopefully I won't have to go in to see her since I think it is not necessary.
Today, it is my nineteenth day on the workout. It is exciting since this will be my third week into the thirty day workout. I already have noticed some changes which may be small but at least they are changes. I woke up late again! I tried really hard to wake up earlier but felt asleep right after my husband's alarm went off. Once I woke up, I hurried to get ready and got myself to the gym by 8:30 am. Once there, I used the treadmill for forty-five minutes. The workout was not horrible and I felt a little more energized today than yesterday. Maybe this little burst of energy came as I knew that I get a day off tomorrow. The only difference from the first two weeks, will be that I only get one day off from the weekend and go back to the gym on Sunday : (. I guess it won't be too bad since I will get two days off after Monday.
On another note, I received a call from the San Lorenzo district office and I have an appointment on Monday at 8:35 am for a fingerprinting appointment. Trying to motivate myself to go the the gym earlier than usual so I get my workout done before I head to Alameda for the appointment, but I'm not having too much confidence that it will happen. I guess I will see if I do go early enough, otherwise, I will just have to go sometime in the afternoon. Today, it will be a very boring day at home since I could not get the appointment for the fingerprinting today but I will keep myself busy with some staining.
Stephen does not have any commitments after work so I'm looking forward to just hanging out with him. I always look forward the day that we actually get to hang out without feeling that there are so many commitments over our heads. I know he is always busy and his wheels on his brain are always turning but I also know that he makes the best attempts in spending time with me. So, our weekend will be a little more mellow since Saturday will be a free day of commitments and Sunday is the only day Stephen has a baseball commitment. For me, I'm just looking forward getting things done for me to be able to substitute sooner than later hopefully.
One more thing, I've been watching a show on the National Geographic channel titled, "Taboo." So, far the episodes I've seen have been interesting to say the least. The last episode regarded people that dwell on the fringes of society and the episode is titled "Misfits." It included a man that since he was a child felt as if his right leg should not be there and it brought upon him depression. They determined that as Gender Identity Disorder (GID) these people that feel that certain limbs should not be there may have a brain chemical imbalance. Eventually this man injured his leg on purpose to have it amputated by placing it in a very cold water bath with chemicals. Then on the second case, a man picks up road kill animals for consumption, yuck! He went on saying that he did this because he opposed farming techniques that are used now and because he does not let good protein go to waste. I now it sounds crazy and disgusting, but the show not only tells you why they do this but it gives us a view into other cultures that share similar views. For example, in India some misfits known as "bendes" travel on boats as they are not allowed to own land and they are viewed as outcasts. So, they make their living by non-traditional medicine and other things they sell to make a living. I really recommend this show but keep in mind that you have to have a strong stomach because I myself almost puked when I saw the man collecting and eating road kill. He even ate the head of one of the animals he collected which put me at awe to how far humans will go to support their points of view or beliefs. As he was eating the brain of a coon he said, "The flavor is sweet." All I have to say is NO THANK YOU!
Anyways, hope you all have a good weekend!
